Enzymes can now be separated and used at home and in industry.

In the home:

Many people use biological detergents, these contain protease and lipase which break down the proteins and fats in stains on clothes like blood, grass, food and sweat. We can use them at lower temperatures because that's how the enzymes work best which saves us electricity too.

In industry:

Proteases are used in baby-foods to pre-digest the food because they babies digestive system is not very good at breaking down food, this way the baby gets all the amino acids they need.

Carbohydrases are used to convert starch into sugar syrup. We use huge quantities of this in many foods.
