• Anorexia is an eating disorder characterised by extreme weight loss and anxiety associated with food and weight gain.
• The immense weight loss is due to inadequate nutrition.
• AN usually begins in teenage years, 95% of sufferers are between the ages of 12 and 29. 90% of people with AN are females, but the rates of male sufferers is increasing.

What should society do?

• If role models are in the media are causing anorexia and low self esteem, we could put age restrictions of social media use.
