INTRO

• Ethical terms cannot be defined as the properties ascribed to them can be defined in non ethical terms
• 'good' , 'ought'
• Good can be defined in non ethical terms like fun, happy, beautiful
• Therefore these key parts are difficult to define making ethics difficult to debate

YELLOW

• G.E Moore said that good can be defined no more successfully than yellow
• Too many philosophers think that naming other things that are good = defining good, however Moore states that they exist together absolutely and entirely in one goodness
• If you were asked to define yellow you could only define it in terms of examples of things that are yellow
• Even if we state where yellow is on the spectrum his only says something about yellow- it doesnt give us a definition of yellow
