It is an advantage to have a wide variety of plants because;
a) uses of plants - as food, raw materials and medicines.
b) plant breeding - to produce new improved varieties.
c) ornamental plants - for improving our surroundings.
d) food webs - initial source of energy.
e) gas balance - during photosynthesis use carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.
f) habitats - many organisms live on or in plants.
If there was a reduction in variety of plants the following could happen;
Ecological Loss
a) natural resource destroyed. b) ecosystems lost forever. c) species lost forever
Therapeutic Loss
a) loss of plants…
