Infant Joy

Synopsis: a dialogue between a newborn baby and their mother.

Language and Tone

  • A simple tone is created through the repetition of few key words – 'sweet' and 'joy'.

  • Other words are connected, eg. 'Smile', 'pretty'

Imagery and Symbolism

  • 'I have no name/I am … happy I am' could be an allusion to the Old Testament – Moses asks God his name, and receives the response
