An organism's genome is its entire hereditary information encoded in DNA. The genome is made up of genes and other DNA sequences that don't code for proteins. 

Human genomics is the study of the human genome and it involves genomic sequencing.

In genomic sequencing, the sequence of nucleotide bases can be determined for individual genes and entire genomes by using computer programs to identify base sequences by looking for sequences similar to known genes.

To compare sequence data, computer and statistical analyses, bioinformatics is required.
