The problems with the weimar republic
- They signed the treaty of versailes and alot of German people felt angry about this
- During this time the German people were in very harsh situations,
Problems caused by the war
- The national income went down by 2/3
- There was a bigger difference between the rich and the poor
- The goverment had to spend 1/3 of its budget on war pensions
- The war caused a revolution and germany became a democratic republic
The Treaty of versailles
- It damaged the German economy
- It damaged their military
- It punished their pride
Punishments
- The German army was limited to no more than 100,000 men and the navy was limited to 15,000 sailors
- An allied army was to occupy Rhineland for a period of 15 years
- Germany had her colonies taken away from her
- Germany had to accept total responsibility for starting the first world war
- Germany had to pay £6,000,000,000 in reperations to cover war damages and allied loses
- Germany had to hand over 70,000 square kilometers of land
- The german navy was allowed only six battleships

- There is no longer a kaiser, but a president
