1.The Differences between Communism and Capitalism.
- Communism: The political idea which in theory aims for everyone to be equal.
- Capitalism: An economic idea which rewards workers based on how much their skills are valued in the marketplace.
2.The Definition of a Cold War.
- A conflict between the USA and the USSR; so-called as neither country directly fought one another but used other nations as pawns in their political game.
3.Grand Alliance.
- The Big 3
- The 'Grand Alliance' were working together against Hitler, however there were some tensions:
- Stalin was annoyed that Britain and USA delayed fighting against the Germans in France until 1944 when the USSR had been fighting since 1941. This would have been a second front.
- Churchill dislikes communism.
4.Tehran Conference.
- November 1943.
- Britain and USA agreed to open a second front by invading France in May 1944.
- The Soviet Union was to wage war against Japan once Germany was defeated.
- United Nations organisation was to be set up after the war.
- An area of Eastern Poland was added to the Soviet Union.
- Roosevelt was unwell and mostly sided with Stalin, so Churchill's idea of an allied invasion through the Balkans, preventing the Red Army from taking over Eastern Europe was rejected.
- The relations between the big 3 improve and Rosevelt was keen on this.
