Henry VIII

Established the Church of England after wanting a divorce from his wife Catherine of Aragon. He caused later trouble in Europe amongst Protestants and Catholics. He wished to marry Anne Boleyn and to accumulate more power - the power the Church had in England.

Brought reforms in taxation - wealthy people had to pay more and spread the burden more fairly
