A franchise is a business agreement that allows one business (the franchisee) to use another business's name and sell their products or services. The Franchiser pays The Franchisee a percentage of annual turnover to use its name and sells its products. 

Advantages to the Franchiser 

  • Allows the franchiser to increase its market share without investing heavily. 
  • Provides a reliable revenue
  • Risks and uncertainty are shared between the Franchiser and Franchisee
