Production, distribution and exhibition are three of the most important parts of the film industry.

Production is split into three parts;

Pre-production: 

Starts after the project has been confirmed. The producer is a hugely important person, after the script has been written. They hire the cast and crew, organise financing, come up with an estimated budget and sit down with the distribution company and come up with the promotion and marketing dates. Also within pre-production a detailed schedule is created ready for filming, sets are made, a start date is decided upon and there is usually a read through of the script.
