Enzymes are used in biological detergents that contain protease and lipases. These enzymes break down proteins and fats in the stains. Biological detergents work better than non-biological detergents at lower tempratures, this is because at higher tempretures the enzymes are denatured.

Protease are used to make baby foods. They help pre-digest some of the proteins in the food. This is because when babies start eating solid foods they are not very good at digestion, so treating food with protease enzymes make it easier for their digestive system to cope with. It is easier for them to get the amino acids they need from their food.
