Summary definition of Social Psychology

Social Psychology is the study of how our behaviour, thoughts and feelings are influenced by the presence, attitudes and actions of other people. We do not approach a social situation blankly, but rather we draw on past life experiences we have gained to determine how we should act in a particular social situation.  Social psychologists attempt to explain human behaviour as a result of mental processes that occur when we take part in a social situation.
