Constipation

Who is it for? How old is the patient? (adult/child)

What are their symptoms? What is their normal bowel movement?

  • Bowel frequency reduced below normal for the individual.
  • Stools are harder than normal.
  • Abdominal bloating or discomfort.

How long have the symptoms been present?

  • Constipation lasting 6 weeks or more is said to be chronic. If the patient suffers from longstanding constipation and has previously been seen by the GP then treatment could be given.
