Civil courts are the courts of law that deal with disputes between individuals or private companies. The civil court hierarchy starts with the County court - the first instance court, this court is divided into 3 tracks: small - deals with claims under £10,000, fast - claims between £10,000 and £25,000, and multi - claims that surpass £25,000. The next court is the High court - the court of unlimited jurisdictions compromising three divisions: Chancery - hears cases involving property, or business disputes of some kind, Family - hears cases that are family matters e.g. adoption, property, divorce. Queens Bench - disputes that involve contracts or negligence. Court of appeal - only hears appealed cases from lower courts and tribunals. And the Supreme court - the final court of appeal.
