Introduction:
Carboxylic acids are organic compounds that contain the reactive group -COOH.
E.g. Ethanoic acid (acetic acid)
Naming the chemical compunds:
The chemical names of the compounds are related to the alkane with the same number of carbon atoms.
For example: The ending 'ane' becones 'anoic acid'
This makes 'ehtane' become 'ethanoic acid'
