Community and Succession
- communities are dynamic and are constantly changing
- succession is he change in structrue and composition of species over time
- primary succession: introduction of pants/animals into an area that has not previously suuported a community
- secondary succession: reintroduction of organisms inot a bare habitat previously occupied by plants and animals
- all successions involve changes in community structure and fucntion until the community reaches a climax of succession called a climax community
- seres: different stages in succession
- a community consists of plants and animals
- animals undergo a similar succesion dictated by the tpe of plant present at each stage
