Operation Yellow (German Invasion of Western Europe)

  • The German attack on Belgium and Holland on the 10th of May 1940 (Yup same day Neville Chamberlain resigned) took the BEFand French troops by suprise.
  • This was because they were expecting Germany to attack along the Franco-German border, where the Maginot line had been reconstructed.
  • This was a series of French forts built to defend France from German attack. BUT German General von Kleist cleverly attacked
