Heritability ~ proportion of our brain that functions the way it does due to genetics

Brain dysfunction ~ the idea that a brain isn't operating the way normal brains do

The theory believes that some people are born more likely to be criminals than others. There are areas of the brain that are associated with criminal behaviour (often said to be damaged or dysfunctional) and increase the chance of criminal behaviour. These areas include :
