Bail presumptions

Bail act 1976 sets out the basic presumption that all people are granted uncoditional bail. this is outlined in s.4 of the bail act.

The presumption can be removed if they; have offended while on bail previously, they will most likely try to abscond (flee), will interfere with evidence/witnesses or should be kept in custody for own protection.

Also bail will only be granted in exceptional circumstances for a case of murder, **** or mansluaghter or any attempts of these. This is…
