HideShow resource information

Stress is when the individual cannot cope with the demands of a situation.

There are two types of stress; acute stress and chronic stress.

The process of becoming stressed:

Pressures will come from the enviroment, we then develop self questioning, do we believe we can cope? if yes, we deal with the demand, and our body produces no stress, however, if we dont believe, we dont deal with it and our body produces stress, for which can lead to chronic stress.

The body's initial response to stress:

when the body is first exposed to stress, the Sympathetic Adrenal Medullary [SAM] Pathway is activated. this begins with the activiation of the Sympathetic Nervous System, a branch of the Autonomic Nervous System
