Allotropes of carbon diamonds and graphite

HideShow resource information

Diamond -

A diamond is dense because it has strong covalent bonds. It is transparent because when you look through a hexagonal hole all the other holes line up and you can see through it. It does not conduct electricity because the electrons are stuck in the bonds. Each carbon is connected to 4 other carbons.
