- Close ended questions restrict interviewees from what they really wish to say
- Little freedom to explain questions or clarify misunderstandings
- Lieing or exaggerating
- Interviewer may influence interviewee
Inflexibility
- Having to draw questions in advance so have already decided what is importance; not coincide with what the interviewee thinks is important
