LAVA-Boiling hot (molten) rock that has erupted out of the volcano (as is therefore above the ground), that will harden and become rock again in time.

MAIN VENT- the pipe or tube which most of the magma comes up during the eruption. (some imes magma makes other holes as well)

MAGMA- Boiling (molten) rock from earths core sitting below ground and waiting to errupt

CRATER- The dent in the top of a volcano caused by the blast of the eruption.

MAGMA CHAMBER- Place below ground were the molten rock sits and boils, waiting to erupt

ACTIVE- the volcano will erupt again and again

DORMANT- The volcanoes are said to be asleep because they erupt suddenly with no prediction

EXTINT- volcanoes that will never erupt again
