Indications:

  • Calculi
  • Location of uteric stent

Contra-indications:

  • Pregnant
  • Recent plain film

  • Obliques
  • Forced respiration

Intravenous Urogram

Indications:

  • Calculi
  • Obstruction

Contraindications:

  • Contrast
  • Pregnancy

Pt prep:

  • Low residue diet
  • Hydration
  • pregnancy status
  • Venflon insitu

Antegrade pyelogram

Indications:

  • Determine the site of obstruction
  • Prior to an interventional procedure.

Contraindications:

  • Infection
  • Contrast

Pt prep:

  • Nil by mouth for 4-6 hrs
  • cannula insitu

Indications:

  • Determine the site of obstriuction
  • Prior to an interventional procedure

Contra-indications:

  • GA
  • Contrast

Can dilate stenosis whilst undergoing this procedure.

Micturating Cystourethrography

Indications:

  • Incontinence
  • Reflux

Contra-indications:

  • Current Urinary Tract Infection
  • The procedure is unacceptable to the pt

This procedure shows the bladder size and shape and highlights any abnormalities

  • Strictures
  • Tears

Contra-indications:

  • Recent instrumentation
  • Current UTI
