Collision Zones:

• e.g. Himalayas
• two continental crusts come together, same low density so no subduction
• plates fold and 'crumple' together causing mountains

Transform Zones:

• conservative plate boundaries
• faults 'join up' 
• tension builts up then a 'jolt' causes earthquakes
• NO VOLCANO
• shallow focal depth so hihg-magnitudes, can be very destructive
