What are hazards?
Every year, several hazardous events occur all over the globe, these are described as natural hazards.
What is a natural hazard?
A natural hazard s a natural event or process which affects people such as, causing loss of life or injury, economic damage, disruption to people's lives or environmental degradation.
For a natural event to become a hazard it HAS to involve people.
The way that people, social systems and environments link together determines whether the event is a hazard.
