swallowing and sucking reflex

when the roof of a baby is touched with either a finger,dummy or ****** the baby will instictively begin sucking. around 2-3 months it will no longer be a reflex but a conscious effort

rooting reflex

when gently touched on the cheek. the baby's head will move in the same direction as if in search of the ******. this reflex will usually dissapear after the first 4 months

grasp reflex

when an object is placed into the baby's hand it will automatically begin grasping

walking reflex

when held upright with the feet touching a firm surface. the baby will begin to make walking movements.

startle reflex

when the baby is stratled by a sudden loud noise or bright light , the hands are clenced and the elbows are bent to bring the forearms in and he she may cry

falling reflex

a sudden movement which affects the baby and gives the feeling that they may be dropped. their arms fling back , hands open and arms brought together as if to cath something
