injection moulding

granulated or powdered thermoplastic material is heated, melted and then forced under pressure into a mould. once in the mould the material cools, forming a component that takes on the shape of the mould cavity

Extrusion

raw theromoplastic material in the form of the small beads. fed drom the top mounted hopper into the barrel of the extruder. melted into die and pushed into the mould.

blow moulding

a holllow length of plastic, called a parision, is extruded down between the two halves of the moulds. the mould closes and compressed air is blown into the inside which inflates it pushing the soft plastic hard against the cold surfaces of the mould

vacuum forming

the platen and mould are lowered and ridgid thermoplastic sheet material is clamped onto an airtight gasket and heated from above. once the thermoplastic sheet is softened enough. air is blown in raised bringing the mould into contact with the plastic? then the air is vacuumed out.

compression moulding

a mould is charged with a measured amount of the powder granuals in readiness for compression. and the two halves of the mould are brought together and the plastic materials is foced under compression to flow rapidly around the cavity. it is closed with heat which causes the plastic rusulting in a change of shape.

line bending

an electric element similar so that in an eletric fire, is encolsed in a channrl which has an opening at the top. a thermoplastic sheet is placed across the supports. it is heated and bent.

calendaring

ingredients are mised and bended and fluxed at 100 degrees the plastic is transported on a belt onto two rolls mill. the fluxed compound is stripped from the first roller at a controlled rate. internal passengers within each roller are filled with hot water. goes to post calender train and is cooled in rollers. the film is them would up into a roll.

rotational moulding

a plastic material in powder form is placed into a hollow mould, usally made from cast alluminium and the polymer gradually melts and 'lays-up' on the inside of the mould.
