Three categories of a healthy active lifestyle

Three categories of a healthy active lifestyle are PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND MENTAL

Physical

A healthy active life style contributes to good health, provides physical challenge, increases fitness, improves performance and improves health related exercise components.

Social

A healthy active lifestyle provides the opportunity to mix with others, make new friends, meet old/current friends, develop teamwork/cooperation and to work with others.

Psychological (mental)

A healthy active lifestyle provides mental challenge, relieves and prevents stress and tension, increases self-esteem and confidence and contributes to enjoyment in life.

  • Helps the individual feel good (serotonin release)
  • Helps relieve stress and prevents stress related illness
