·     Take 5 minutes to read Source A and complete the task

·     Identify explicit and implicit information from a section of the text

·     Select four true statements from a choice of eight

·     Take 5 minutes to read Source B and plan the response

·     Write a topic sentence in response to the task

·     Include at least two quotes from each text

·     Make inferences based on the quotations

·     Use conjunctions to show similarity or difference

·     Take 10 minutes to write the response

Question 3

·     Focus on the section of the text stated in the question

·     Write a topic sentence in response to the task

·     Include at least three quotations

·     Explore and analyse key words in the quotations

·     Explore layers of meaning / alternative interpretations- Use subject terminology

·     Take 15 minutes to complete the task- A maximum of 12 marks available

Sentance starters;

Start with a topic sentence that answers the question in a word or short phrase.

Pick out a quote and embed into a sentence (if possible), followed by an inference

Zoom in on specific words and explore the connotations

Link to another word/phrase using the connective ‘Furthermore’ and repeat
