The Law Commission

- Are an independant, permanent and full-time law reform bbody set up by the Law Commission Act 1965.

- Composition: five Law Commissioners (one being the Chairman- the High Court Judge). Other four commissioners are well qualified, experienced practising or academic lawyers. Each Commissioner is supported by a "team" which is usually made up of barristers and solicitors, parliamentary draftsmen, researchers and administrative staff. 

- s3(1) of 1965 Act, the Law Commission's role is "to keep under review all the law"
