How acts has modelled the early church

  • The Cotemporary church in providing worship and sacraments, religious teaching, mission, service and outreach, and fellowship
  • devotion to apostles teaching (didache):  the early church was devoted to the life, death and ressurrection of jesus
  • fellowship: participating in the apostles teaching and belief lead to a fellowship with god
  • breaking of break: could mean to break bread at communal meal or to share with the poor
  • prayers: jewish men prayed at the temple three times a day, apostles still adhere to this practice showing prayer is a main strength as a community
  • things in common: those who believed would 'sell their possessions and goods and distribute, the proceeds to all, as any had need'
