Cell Structure and Function

This surrounds the cell, it allows nutrients to enter the cell and waste to leave it. 

Cell Membrane 

Nucleus

This controls what happens in the cell. It contains DNA, the genetic informatin that cells need to grow and reproduce. 

Cytoplasm

This is a jellylike substance in which chemical reactions happen 

Mitochondria

These are tiny structures in the cell cytoplasm, where respiration happens. 

Cell Wall 

The outer structure that surrounds the cell giving it support 

Vacuole

The space within the cytoplasm of plant cells that contains sap

Chloroplasts

These contain chlorophyll and are the site of photosynthesis 

Ribosomes

Where protein synthesis happens in a cell
