Entrepreneur

Starting up any business begins with an entrepreneur – a person who has an idea for a new business and is prepared to take risks to make that business work.

Enterprising – able to spot a good business opportunity and to have the vision and drive to make that business succeed.

Characteristics – Contributes original ideas, self-confident and passionate, ability to work independently and able to develop ideas, committed and willing to make personal sacrifices, creative thinker who shows initiative, work single mindedly towards a goal, energy to work hard and ensure that the business reaches full potential, willing  to take calculated risks, good leader ship qualities, motive and inspire teammates and isn’t discouraged by failures or setbacks and understand that many good business ideas do not succeed.

The government encourages enterprise because it reduces unemployment, new ideas may succeed and provide fresh opportunities, people feel motivated and competition ensures a healthier business environment.
