BLOOD VESSELS. AKA Artery, Capillary and Vein

Artery - small lumen

            inner layer- squamous epithelium (endothelium)

           middle layer of thick muscule and elastic tissue
           outer layer of fibrious tissue

Carries blood AWAY from heart

blood is OXYGENATED (except pulmonary artery)

It IS  cappable of constriction

Blod under HIGH pressure

Valves ABSENT

Made up of squamous epithelium

Absent outer layer

Inner layer present

Absent middle layer

Carries blood beteween artery and vein

Carries both oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.

Not capable of constriction

Blood under LOWERING pressure

Valves ABSENT
