  • Major depressive episode with the showing of 5 or more symptoms presented in the same 2 week period:
    • Depressed mood most days
    • Markedly diminished interest
    • Body weight loss of more than 5% of body weight 
    • Insomnia or excessive sleep 
    • Restlessness or less activity 
    • Fatigue 
    • Feelings of worthlessness 
    • Lack of ability to think or concentrate 
    • Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide

  • Two or more of the following symptoms shown in one month:
    • Delusions 
    • Hallucinations 
    • Disorganised speech
    • Grossly disorganised or catatonic behaviour 
    • Negative symptoms e.g.diminished emotional expression

  • Marked fear or anxiety about two or more of these situations:
    • Using public transport 
    • Being in open spaces 
    • Being in enclosed places
    • Standing in line or in a crowd
