Because he made enemies whilst getting the
throne and during his rule:
Involved in killing his brother, Duke of Clarence
Executed Lord Hastings
Murdered the two princes in the tower (though
not proved)
Executed Buckingham who had shown support
to Henry (1483)
Poisoned his wife to so could marry Elizabeth of

War of the roses made the throne
unstable.
Other contenders of the throne would
do the same thing (e.g. The "new
nobility" ­ Elizabeth Woodville, Earls
Hastings and Rivers and Grey VS. The
Lancastrians including Henry VII and
Buckingham.

Developed chamber of finance
Assisted trade and increased customs
revenue
Made an alliance with James III of
Scotland which was a major deal as the
time as there was always fear of a Scottish
invasion
Promised to support Brittany against
