Epithelium cells
The cell is the smallest building block of all living organisms. There are four types of cells that make up

Epithelial
Connective
Muscle
Nervous
When groups of the same type of cell come together they form a tissue, combinations of different

Features of Epithelium
Epithelial cells are closely packed together, forming a continuous sheet. The reason for this is that as
they see on the basement membrane they have no blood supply and so have to be close together so
nutrients are able to disuse through to the tissues. Epithelial also always have an exposed surface.
They do how ever have a good nerve supply so that you can feel damage being caused to protected
