I = INTERPHASE
During interphase the cell grows and
replicates its DNA, ready for division.
Interphase is divided into G1, S and G2.
G1 = Gap Phase one. During gap phase one
the cell grows and organelles and proteins
S = synthesis. During synthesis the cell
replicates its DNA, ready for mitosis.
G2 = Gap Phase two. The cell keeps growing
and proteins needed for cell division are
M = MITOSIS
Mitosis is one continuous process, but we say
