This revision video was very helpful but there were a few tinsy bits that I didn't understand:

I'm confused when you wrote '...and the other with four (dotted crotchet) beats in a bar'. This is the fifth slide, last point. Could you explain it to me? If you can.

Also...

On the last slide (slide 6), the last point, when you wrote: 'It finished with a fortissimo climaz from the solo part', you do mean 'climax' right.

Excluding all this, I think your presentation was extremely helpful and I'm glad you posted it. I would recommend it to everyone who is doing GCSE Music. It helped me a lot.

Thank you!

Hi Sandy, thanks for the feedback, I always love hearing from the people who use the videos!

It's been a while since I finished the Music GCSE, but I think the dotted crotchet beats in the bar relate to syncopation, and also help create a contrapuntal 'counterpoint' texture between the many melody lines (although as I say, it's been a while so that might be wrong :') ).
The 'climaz' was indeed a typo, I must of looked over it in my haste to finish the video!

Thanks again for the feedback, I'm glad you found the material useful! :)

This is great presentation of notes on Steve Reich's 'Electric Counterpoint' set to the music itself. This means you can try and listen out for the musical features you are reading about!
