	Advantages The experience was realistic Roles were reinforced - Prisoners were realistically arrested from their own homes, blindfolded, ***** searched, deloused and given smock uniforms, they were also referred to by number instead of name - Guards were given uniforms, dark glasses, night sticks and were instructed to keep prisoners under control without the use of physical violence Control over some variables - Increased internal validity	Disadvantages Not generalisable - Low population validity Only conducted once - Low reliability Ethical issues - Major stress was put on the participants, especially the prisoners
