Evaluation

Unstructured interviews give the respondent greater control as they can answer questions in a way in which they want. It is a good way to talk about sensitive topics as the interviewer will build a relationship in which they can trust. However this means that they can sometimes lack in objectivity and there can be interviewer bias. Deception can also be an issue.
