  • War Photographer- he has a choice to be a war photographer whereas, a soldier is trapped in war and is unable to escape.

Overall comparison

Both are similar in the sense that they reveal the truth and reality of war; the different effects it has on the human psyche. Both poems expose war as so traumatic that both people in the poems are taken to a dark place and not just psychically, but mentally.
