Similarities
- They both deny certain groups of people opportunities with scientific justification, both need to emphasise the value of women through research and encourage indigenous psychologies
- Gender bias involves alpha and beta bias whereas Culture bias invovles ethnocentrism, cultural relativism and imposed etics
|
Differences
- Gender bias is suggested to be a social construct because naturally seeing men in leading roles will cause young girls to believe they cannot do that job. So, social inequality must be tackled.
- Culture bias assumes that there is no such thing as universal human behaviour, as suggested by Elkman in basic facial expressions associated with emotion and interactional synchrocity
- Differences in culture bias are considered to be overstated and less of an issue
