Disadvantages
- Arguments against Euthanasia
- Unnecessary due to advances in palliative care
- Dying person may not be able to think clearly enough
- Could be abused
- Patients can be talked into euthanasia for wrong reasons
- Patients may not trust their doctors to keep them alive
- Euthanasia is no better than murder
- Not fair to expect doctors to kill their patients
- There are special places for terminally ill people to be cared for therefore euthanasia isn't necessary
- If the patient is unable to make a decision, who has the right to decide whether they live or don't?
- Mistakes can happen, is diagnosis and prescription from the doctors side
- Goes against the sanctity of life principal
