- Starts off as more pleasant, probably due to his liking for Helen. As he begins to get irritated with Helen (particularly in Act Two), he becomes more unpleasant, especially to Jo and Geof.

- Seems to be quite rich (boasts that his house has "five swimming pools". We cannot tell if this is literally true but it does show that his house is luxury).
- Wears a black eye patch
- Possibly in his 30s (Helen says that he is 10 years younger than her and, judging by Jo's age, Helen is probably in her early 40s, although she could be younger)
