1.1 Augustine view on human nature is pessimistic

Advantages

Aquinas - Humans fundamentally want to do Good
Locke - no distinct human nature

Disadvantages

God's grace can still save us

Evaluation

Despite Augustin's beliefs about the power of grace on human nature alone was very pessimistic as he argued that it was fundamentally corrupted by the fall and would always be tempted towards sin.
