- Step 1; find the difference between each set of scores
- Step 2; differences will need to be ranked
- Step 3; look at difference column and count the positive and negative signs there are
- Step 4; using the less frequent sign add the scores in the ranked order difference column
- Step 5; calculate n value, the number of differences
- Step 6; match n value to critical value table
- Significance; observed value has to be lower than the critical value to be significant
