  • What caused the German Revolution?
    • Long term causes.
      • Germany's defeat in WWI (America joined the war in 1917 which tipped the balance
      • British Navy blockaded German coastline, which meant that food supplies were blocked German people were starving.
        • Flu epidemic killed many Germans= increased discontent/ anger
    • Short term causes.
      • October 1918- mutiny of German navy at Kiel- refused to set out to fight the British navy and marched to Berlin instead
    • The trigger.
      • Protest against Kaiser Wilhem II in Berlin early November 1918.
